      <image:title>Our Vision - Empowering Students, Supporting Communities.</image:title>
<image:caption>We believe in children as children because of the contribution they make to the world when they are children. We don’t believe that children have to grow up to be adults before they can contribute to a better world. They are a vital part of the solutions the world needs at this time in history. We recognize the youth of the world as essential members of a functional society. In fact, we consider that they are the most necessary component of the solutions to the world’s problems because they can be, in the end, the most powerful contributors to a better world, if we teach them well and are willing to learn from them too. We recognize that strong peer bonds are formative and powerful and that when students are equipped with effective, life supporting knowledge and skills they influence each other in effective, life supporting ways. We see a need to support young people so that they can support each other and then go out into the world able to function at a capacity that contributes to a functional society, community wellbeing, increased social capital, and productive respectful co-existence. We believe that we can contribute to making a better world by providing young people the foundational life skills and knowledge of the CLC curriculum. We believe that schools play a vital and direct role in supporting healthy students and communities. By engaging in this work, teachers can help empower students to unlock their unlimited potential.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Team - Autumn Browning</image:title>
<image:caption>As both a public school teacher and a social worker, Autumn has dedicated her career to serving children and families. She has worked in a number of capacities in Asheville, NC, the Mississippi Delta, Los Angeles, and Oklahoma City. She earned her BSW from Warren Wilson College and her MSW from the University of Southern California. In 2021, she became a Nationally Board Certified Teacher in adolescent and young adult English Language Arts. Her role as an educator has perpetuated her passion to provide trauma informed, school-based services that meet both the social-emotional and learning needs of her students. Autumn piloted the first two classes of the “Community Leadership Class” (CLC) at a local high school in Oklahoma City. “Piloting the Community Leadership Class was an incredible experience. Many of my students have experienced trauma and as their teacher, I often felt overwhelmed on how to best serve and meet their needs. The CLC allowed my students to learn about trauma and resiliency, while also building skills around healthy boundaries, listening, and leadership. Students benefited greatly from this class.” In addition to her work with the CLC, Autumn is an active volunteer with a number of organizations. In 2019, she was named one of “NextGen’s Oklahoma 30 Under 30” for her work in education and in 2022, she was named a teacher of the year finalist in Oklahoma City Public Schools.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Impact - Student Outcomes</image:title>
<image:caption>Through the Community Leadership Curriculum, we have been able to plant seeds of change, hope, and resiliency with four classes, empowering 50 students. While we have piloted the Community Leadership Class (CLC) four times, we expect to do a few more pilots before it is truly “ready for prime time.” Of the students who participated in the CLC, we found a significant reduction in behavioral referrals, an increase in overall academic performance, and an increase in their attendance rates. Students also reported high satisfaction with the class through course evaluations and personal testimonies.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Impact - “Open Hearts, Open Minds”</image:title>
<image:caption>A unique feature of the Community Leadership Class is the opportunity for students to take ownership over the class by naming their group. In the latest pilot, students named their class the “Open Hearts, Open Minds.” To the right is an amazing example of digital art that a student created to represent their group.</image:caption>
